Former Lyft and Foursquare Exec Joins Human Ventures as Venture Partner
Evan Cohen will be crafting a new experience for our Entrepreneurs-in-Residence called “Humans in the Wild”
As reported by Business Insider, we’re delighted to announce that Evan Cohen, formerly of Lyft, Foursquare and Bebo is joining Human Ventures as a Venture Partner. In the last 20+ years, Evan has worked with technology and media companies to develop business and product strategy during hyper-growth, build and lead high-performance teams, construct successful operational processes, and fund growth through raising investment capital. Evan began advising our current portfolio companies, and now we’re thrilled to have him focused on creating a new experience for our next wave of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence.
In partnership with Human’s COO and General Partner Michael Letta, who leads Human’s Studio operations, Evan will launch a new program designed for experienced entrepreneurs who are looking to build what’s next. At Human (perhaps unsurprisingly) everything starts with the people. Since we launched 4 years ago, we have witnessed the exponential power of founders working side-by-side in the earliest days and a tremendous appetite amongst NYC founders to be a part of a valuable founder-to-founder community.
When asked why Evan chose us at Human, he said, “Starting a new company is one of the scariest, most challenging, and intense endeavors one can imagine. As I’ve learned first-hand through my own start-up experiences, to be successful, you need to surround yourself first and foremost with great humans to receive guidance, collaborate intensively, and share the pain. Human Ventures is world-class at building community dynamics and support for entrepreneurs, and I’m excited to partner with Michael and Heather to design a larger Studio platform that can serve even more Entrepreneurs-in-Residence in 2020.”
