Cassava is a tropical and sub-tropical woody crop that produces a distinctive tuber not too dissimilar to potatoes. They come in a bitter and sweet variety and they can mainly be found in South America and parts of Africa. On the surface, they appear to be just another vegetable. But look a little closer and you’re in for a nasty surprise — hydrogen cyanide.
