If you want your student to be committed to school or their sport, you have to show your commitment to your area of work (whether that is a job, being a parent, etc.) as well. If you want your student to prioritize family events, you should, too. Show them it’s okay to be disappointed and feel their emotions and deal with those emotions. Giving a safe space to be who they are is also an imperative way to stay connected to your student.

School is really not easy these days. Many students have been out of school for a long time because of the pandemic, and the continued disruptions and anxieties are still breaking the flow of normal learning. What can parents do to help their children thrive and excel in school, particularly during these challenging and anxiety-provoking times?
