SparkPoint and 12Legions AMA Session: The Recap
Let’s get to know more about the 12Legions — A fantasy world where players become lords.
On December 9th, we had a little fun and excitement inside the #SparkyCommunity #AMA room! We started the session with a short quiz which proved how dedicated our community is, always up for anything fun and challenging! 😉 We hosted this AMA to introduce one of the newest teammates in the industry, the 12Legions Project represented by Mr. Loi Ly aka Ben Lee.
To shortly introduce, 12 Legions team aims to be part of the new and exciting NFT game field and blockchain industry. Twelve Legions is a turn-based strategy game in which characters are represented by unique NFTs on a blockchain system.
Each character in the game has a unique appearance, attributes, and characteristics. On the on-chain system, they are represented as NFTs and cannot be tampered. Players will need to choose the correct game characters and equipment for the gameplay in order to win and earn tokens.

Karan: Hi, Sparkies! It’s time for another AMA. Today we have Ben Lee from 12Legions.
12 Legions is a turn-based strategy game in which characters are represented by unique NFTs on the blockchain system.
With Blockchain and NFT technology, they will make in-game rewards worthy with users’ efforts and make everything more transparent and fairer.

Karan: Perfect! Let’s start with some introduction for the community can get a brief idea about the project.

Karan: Would you please tell us about yourself and your background?
Ben Lee: Sure. Let me introduce myself.
Ben Lee: I am Loi. You can also call me Ben. I’m CEO and Founder of the 12 Legions project. My background is IT engineer, and I’ve worked for over 18yrs in this industry.
You know, when I was a kid, I loved playing games, especially strategy games (Settlers IV, Cossacks, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Age of Empires)
I have a dream to make my own game, and I did it 16 years ago, a web version of 12 Legions game, but I still feel I’m missing something, a big question still in my head, how can a game become balancing between joyful & also let users earn a real valuable prize.
And then, I learned about crypto and NFT, and I feel like it opened a new horizon and made my dream come true. So I decided to REMAKE 12 Legions and bring it to the community again. Not just a game, this is a metaverse where people who love strategy & RPG games start their adventure and earn together.
Karan: Wow, 16 years ago! I can almost relate the same with our CTO Rico too.
Ben Lee: That’s amazing!
Karan: Now, moving on to the next question. Can you briefly introduce your project to us?
Ben Lee: 12 Legions is a turn-based strategy game in which characters are represented by unique NFTs on the blockchain system.
We want to create an open world, with fantasy lands, where players can become Lords, ruling their lands. Make rules, resources mine, trading, recruit troops, summon Heroes, and of course, explore & conquer new lands.
With Blockchain and NFT technology, we will make in-game rewards worthy with users’ efforts and make everything more transparent and fairer.
There are two basic tokens in the 12 Legions:
- $CTL (Chaos of Twelve Legions token) — This is the token for project management and system development. The max supply for CTL is 220.000.000. We have 3 rounds for fundraising, including Seed Round; Private Round, and Public Round. We only raise sufficient funds to develop our project and staff because we do not want to waste investors’ money and time.
- $POM (Piece of Material) — This is the in-game token. POM will be automatically minted from the game system to reward players. We will set the limit for POM after releasing the main version of the game system. Players are rewarded with POM tokens when winning in any battle mode. POM is tradable on exchanges like Pancakeswap or Uniswap.
Ben Lee: In the 1st release, there will be 3 classes WARRIOR, ARCHER, and CLERIC. Three more will come shortly in the next update. We also have plans for more evolved classes in the future. Each character in the game has its appearance, attributes, and characteristics.
Ben Lee: On the on-chain system, they are represented as NFTs and cannot be tampered with. Players will need to choose the correct game characters and equipment for the gameplay to win and earn tokens.
Karan: That’s a very interesting intro.
What is it about 12 Legions that would attract gamers?
Ben Lee: In recent times, many projects promise to be a play-to-earn but are simply click-to-earn games with little entertainment value. We are game creators and we aim to provide the community with an actual gaming project. Users may utilize the blockchain platform for more than just financial transactions; they can also play games with various entertainment components.
In addition, our game has linked gate technology and smart contract optimization so players can easily connect the wallet to the server, claim tokens, or exchange with a minimum gas fee.
Last but not least, we have a clear Road Map with interesting features that can let users explore and stick with it for a long time. The interactive element in the game in the near future will help players interact with each other through creating clans to be able to occupy villages and lands with each other. These will go towards a Metaverse project we planned for the end of 2022.

World map: A big map with Twelves lands for players to explore
Village & Clans: Help players create their clan and get more resources by occupying.
Adventure Mode (PvE): PvE battles will help you level up heroes, collect materials and POM (our in-game token)
Arena Mode (PvP): This mode allows players to defeat the other’s Heroes. Hence it is recommended for more experienced players.

Ben Lee: Right now, we are publishing the full-text version of the 12 Legions for Windows, MacOS, and Android.

To start the game, users need to get a minimum of 03 heroes. We also had a bundle for beginners with a reasonable price on the Marketplace. They can also buy or craft the items and use them to boost their Heroes’ status and sell them back on the marketplace.

Can you tell us more about the 12 Legions roadmap? What stage has been reached so far?
Ben Lee: After our IDO event on all 3 platforms Game Starter, Starter, Starpunk, and Listing event on PancakeSwap has been successfully completed. Right now, we have already released the Alpha Test product, not just a promise. The marketplace and server system is ready for testing on a limited scale (over 5k -10k users).
We’ve added a lot of details and logic elements into the gameplay of the 12 Legions. This will stimulate the creativity and desire of players to conquer.
This will get them involved and the project, and will also be better for long-term development orientation.
In addition, we will have specific plans noted in the roadmap that you can easily find on our website (https://12legions.io/)
But some notable features we can note are as follows:
- Completing infrastructure, ready to receive a large number of users. Right now, we’re aiming for 200k Daily Active Users (DAUs)
- Adding PVP and Tournament mode so that players can do more challenges and interact better with friends
- Adding more Hero classes, more skills (> 240 skills) for users to combine and choose
- Adding more NFT items, balance item stats, and Heroes
We would like to improve it better day by day. So we need a long-term plan for our project.

Q: Many people want to learn about your project but they have problems with English, so do you plan to spread awareness about your project in different countries where English is not good? Do you have a marketing strategy aimed at developing many different communities?
Ben Lee: All people are welcome to 12 Legions. We have many plans to support our users to understand the projects and enjoin the game easily.
First, we plan to integrate multi-language into the game for users to easily read and play (will come very soon in the next update). 12 Legions has a very friendly UI. That helps people use all the features very simply.
We partner with many KOLs, Youtubers to do game reviews in many different languages. People can follow them to understand more about 12 Legions.
We have many CMs on 12 Legions’ channels and groups to support users.
So, I think everyone can join 12 Legions even the newbie in crypto.
Q: Partnership is always an important factor for every project. So who is your partner? What are the benefits you get from those relationships?
Ben Lee: After our IDO event on all 3 platforms Game Starter, Starter, Starpunk, and Listing event on PancakeSwap has been successfully completed, right now we already have the game in the testing stage. Besides that, we want to create a game with a reasonable token-burning mechanism, and players must burn the in-game tokens to become stronger instead of just earning in the game.
Our goal is to aim for a balanced ecosystem between earning and burning tokens. For the free token, we will distribute it through our tournament feature (You can check the timeline on our roadmap)
We would like to improve it better day by day. So, we need a long-term plan for our project.
Q: Do you have any Coin Burn / Buy Back systems or any $Token Burn plans to increase the value of the Token & attract Investors to invest?
Ben Lee: We have integrated a burning mechanism for POM to balance the game and deflation.
There are 3 main ways to burn in-game tokens:
1) Staking heroes to the resources mine by using POM, this feature will help players gain in-game Materials in return.
2) Breeding by using a combination of Hero A & Hero B to create new NFT Hero by using governance token $CTL & in-game token $POM
3) Crafting/ Equipment by using $POM & in-game Materials
Q: Can you list 1–3 killer features of this project that make it ahead of its competitors? What is the competitive advantage of your project that you feel confident about?
Ben Lee: Currently, we have strategic partnerships with the following investment funds such as Kardia Ventures, Lavender Capital, Alpha Moon Capital, Traveler Capital, DCI Capital, Halving Capital, Lambo Capital. And other important partnerships with GameStarter, Kenzo Ventures, Kyros Ventures, X99 Ventures, Hafen Ventures, and some others.
They are all famous venture capitalists in the crypto industry.
In addition, we have cooperated with many partners with big VCs like Metagaming Guild, SparkPoint, Black Mamba, Shin Chan, Crypto FOMO, LPI DAO, Crypto Tamil, Crypto Arena, Road To Millions, Tradecoin Underground, Starter, Starpunk, Miracle Research, etc.
Especially, we have AlphaTrue, a blockchain business advisory company, is the incubator of 12 Legions. They support us too much in marketing and blockchain technology.
With the support and experience of these partners, 12 Legions will have more manpower and resources to reach more gamers or crypto investors and achieve new milestones in the future. They will support us in both technology and marketing.
Q: What is the most ambitious goal of your project? Could you share with us any Upcoming Updates?
Ben Lee: We are working on lots of cool features for every user to monetize & have fun in the 12 Legions ecosystem. Here are the 3 features that differentiate 12 Legion from its competitors:
1) Marketplace — The renting feature will be included in Marketplace. Non-players can purchase and own Heroes that later can be rented out for money. It’ll usually be a small fee to rent Heroes instead of buying them. This feature allows small investors to rent Heroes to try out the game.
2) Tournament — Allows players to bet on potential teams or players to make profits.
3) Invest to become the landowner (Lord) and focus on businesses like tax collecting, and gain more in-game resources from other players in their land.
We are confident that our game can combine two factors: play for fun and play-to-earn.
In addition, our game has linked gate technology and smart contract optimization so players can easily connect the wallet to the server, claim tokens, or exchange with a minimum gas fee.
Moreover, we are proud of an in-house team, including many talented members with lots of experience. Our team knows exactly what to do best for game players.
