Disney, Release Nimona: We’ll Tell You Why

I am a Disney fan and will freely admit that about the mouse. The other thing that I will admit is that I was looking forward to Nimona from Blue Sky Studios while being wary of most of their wares. This is based on the graphic novel of the same name. Sadly, after Disney bought the company, they canceled the production of the film in 2020. Fans know that an unfinished cut exists. We just can’t get access to it.

Nimona, a graphic novel by Noelle Stevenson of She-Ra And the Princesses of Power fame, talks about what happens when a random title character breaks a stalemate between a bitter mastermind and his archnemesis. She likes sharks, pizza, and bloodthirsty plans that involve her changing her form. Ballister Blackheart, an overlord with a grudge against an Institution in a fantasy realm as well as its champion Ambrosius Goldenloin, agrees to hire her as his sidekick, with a paycheck and benefits. He needs some assistance to take on Goldenloin and the Institution’s armed guard. Its Director has an interest in Nimona, asking for Goldenloin to assassinate the child.

We would like the unfinished cut of Nimona, Disney, with your history of letting copyrights and properties languish. It was not cool to cancel it this early in the game. I have a…
