“And no, it is not about me “slut shaming” young girls as a writer, because a) gross and b) there is no such thing as a 4-year-old slut and c) little girls just want to be able to play comfortably in their clothes. I’ve heard from a lot of people this week. Not one of them was a preschooler who felt “slut shamed” by my last post.”

But seriously I never realized how heavily gendered the clothing market is for little kids. Like little boys and little girls are like the same size and have similar body shapes until they get older, so there is no reason why clothing for little girls should be made to accentuate a frame that they have yet to develop. Like why does a little girl need shorts that have a 1" inseam. Like not cool.

And not all little girls like pink and purple and not all little boys like blue and superheros and cars and trucks (I was more of a dinosaur guy when I was a little tike). Market segmentation by gender is something that we should all take note of.
