Kyrgyz National Order of Lenin Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre Abdylas Maldybaev is a center of musical culture of the country. The theater staged more than 200 operas and ballets. It has been working for 70 years.

1926 year

The beginning of the Kyrgyz professional theater, the first musical drama studio.

1930 year

Kyrgyz State Theatre formed.

1937 year

The first musical drama “Altyn Kyz”.

1936–1937 years

Drama Theatre is transformed into a musical drama theatre.

1938 year

Second musical drama “Ajal Orduna”.

1939 year

The first Kyrgyz Opera of Abdylas Maldybaev, Vladimir Vlasov, Vladimir Fere “Ai Churek”.

The first decade of the Kyrgyz art and literature held in Moscow.

The theater was awarded the Order of Lenin.

1942 year

Kyrgyz Music and Drama Theater is transformed into the Kyrgyz State Order of Lenin Academic Opera and Ballet.

1944 year

The ballet of Mihail Rauhverg “Cholpon”.

1955 year

The house of Opera and Ballet Theatre was built by the architects L.Laburenka, P.Ivanov.

1958 year

The second decade of the Kyrgyz art and literature in Moscow.

1959 year

The theater was awarded the honorary title of “Academic”.

1978 year

Kyrgyz State Order of Lenin Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre was named after the composer, People’s Artist of the USSR Abdylas Maldybaev.

2000 year

The theatre received the status of “National”.

2015 year

General Director, Honored Worker of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic Bolot Osmonov headed Theater.
