World Blockchain Organization — United Nations Blockchain Foundation Endorses Opet Foundation Project Along with an Investment Worth ~1,000 ETH

27 August 2018, Singapore — Blockchain-based education platform Õpet has received yet another vote of confidence, this time from the United Nations Blockchain Foundation (UNBF) — an organization under the World Blockchain Organization, which is part of the International Development Information Organization-DevNet (IDIO), a Non-Governmental and Non-Profit Organization (NGO) in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) . The partnership and endorsement deal also involve an investment worth ~1,000 ETH from an affiliated fund partner of UNBF.
The recent years have seen the United Nations exhibiting increasing interest in blockchain applications, especially in technologies that will enable the UN’s services to be so resilient that they could survive even the destruction of the UN itself. The UNBF’s move to invest in Õpet — a visionary initiative to push for inclusive education through blockchain and machine learning technologies — appears as a direct reflection of their intention to bring social responsibility onto the blockchain.
The United Nation’s warm embrace for new technology does not just stop at blockchain; the UNBF is also championing an interesting project, tokenizing special drawing rights into a form of cryptocurrency, namely Crypto Special Drawing Rights (C-SDR). Similar to the Special Drawing Rights (SDR) created by the International Monetary Fund, the C-SDR will comprise of a basket of anchor cryptocurrencies that will help make digital currencies go truly global in the near future.
With a firm nod from the WBO-UNBF, Õpet is likely to see an even stronger amplification in global traction; a move that will be opportune as it cruises into its presale window.
