Japanese TV drama that aired from January 8 to March 19, 1993. Written by Shinji Nojima, starring Hiroyuki Sanada and Sachiko Sakurai, the drama aired on Fridays from 10:00 p.m. to 10:54 p.m. on TBS. The drama made a huge impact as it dealt head-on with social taboos that were already a problem at the time, such as teacher-student romance, homosexuality, rape, incest, and suicide.

The theme song was “Our Failure” by Doji Morita, a female singer-songwriter active mainly in the 1970s, which became a revival hit. There is a sense of transparency, human sadness and weakness in the music of Doji Morita. Since Ms. Morita’s music is rooted in the frustrated student movement, human weakness is in the motif. This drama was created affirm human weakness, so the music of Doji Morita was adopted.
