Synopsis: Danny, who lost her family due to her sister’s forced suicide, visits Sweden with her boyfriend, who is studying folklore at university, and five friends. Their purpose is to participate in a “once every 90 years festival” held in a remote village. The village, where the sun never sets, seemed like a happy place where beautiful flowers bloomed and the gentle residents sang and danced merrily, a place that could only be described as a paradise. However, a sense of disquiet begins to pervade the happy atmosphere of the village, and Danny’s mind is gradually disturbed by delusions, trauma, anxiety, and fear.

I previously updated my movie review of “Midsommer,” and today I watched the director’s cut version on U-NEXT.

The difference between the director’s cut version and the standard version is that the emotions of the characters are carefully depicted. In particular, the relationship between Danny and her boyfriend, Christian, is depicted clearly.
