“Not in the headspace for sth…”

Netflix 的原創美劇 “Riverdale” (河古鎮) 在美國大受喜愛，被譽為暗黑版的Gossip Girl。某一天女主角 Betty 想要約剛認識的男主角 Archie 去舞會跳舞時，Archie 因為生活種種事情雜事很多很煩 (自己練音樂的事情、幫忙父親工作等)，回覆 “No, I’m not really in the headspace for a dance.”

“to be in the headspace for sth / to V.” 是個比較口語的用法，意思可以理解為 “to be in the mood for sth / to V.”，所以 “not in the headspace for sth” 就是沒有那個心情 (mood, state of mind) 去做～的意思囉！
