| Benjamin Franklin

Not only is he remembered as one of the fathers of the founding of the United States, but he has also achieved numerous achievements.

Invented lightning rods, studied physics, wrote best-selling books, composed music, and founded many civic groups, including universities.

However, the most familiar are the 13 virtues and routines that have been preserved throughout life.

| Routine

1. Preparation of the day: shower, breakfast, private study (3 hours)

2. Morning work (4 hours)

3. Review current project and lunch (2 hours)

4. Afternoon business (4 hours)

5. Dinner, break and day off (4 hours)

6. Sleep (7 hours)

| What is different

The routine consists of a total of 6 blocks. This is simple compared to the routines of other celebrities. This is another part of Benjamin Franklin. Instead, there is nothing overwhelming to do, but it is structured.

1. Consistency

“Sleeping early and getting up early, becoming a healthy, wealthy and wise person” is one of Franklin’s popular sayings. But what he valued most was consistency, not bedtime or waking up. This is because you can train to improve your sleep quality.

2. Prayer and Meditation

He had time to pray or meditate after taking a shower. This is because you can plan your day through your own loneliness and get the clarity and concentration you need to plan.

3. Questions that start and end the day

Each morning, with the question, “What will I do well today,” I chose what to focus on and planned the day. By setting intentions and planning, you can focus on what’s important and avoid distractions.

Also, before going to bed, I looked back on the day with the question, “Are there any things I did well today?” By looking back on what’s good and what’s wrong, we’ve found time-wasting things and increased productivity.

4. Organizing things

Organize your workspace and put things in place before you leave the office. Chaotic workspaces waste the willpower and energy of the morning hours to do important work.

5. Air bath

At that time, cold bathing was considered beneficial to people, but Franklin believed that cold water shocked the body. Instead, I took a bath in the cold air. Also, I sat in the room naked every morning for 30 minutes to an hour.

| Why did he follow this routine?

“I tried to prevent one fault, but was surprised by another. Bad habits sometimes took over, and were too strong for reason. I concluded that just deciding to be good was not enough. So I made the following method.”

He simply thought it wasn’t enough to decide to get better, and a concrete method was needed. That’s why he made 13 virtues, routines, and checkable tickets and recorded them for 50 years.

It is said that this training, established as a habit, eventually contributed to society and also brought financial stability.

The most important thing is improvement, not perfectionism.

Franklin, who was in the printing business, had a hard time sticking to his routine every day.

But you can see how he was going to spend time.

Wasn’t the day perfect today?

Didn’t you accomplish all your planned work?

There is no need to be frustrated or regretted.

Compliment what you did well today and organize your work to improve.

It’s much more satisfying when you’re living on a day-to-day basis, and it’s the power to endure hard times.

We must intentionally decide who we will be.

If you do not decide how to act, your body will go through the same cycle of finding the same chemical and emotional state you are accustomed to.
