The Athena hard fork, a significant milestone in our project, is progressing well and is in its final stages. All sharders have successfully updated their servers, with only a few miners remaining to complete the update. We anticipate the hard fork to be implemented within the next 24 hours. Please note that while you may not immediately notice changes on the app client side, certain fixes, such as the negative SAS balance, will be addressed in the upcoming hotfixes scheduled for next week.

Furthermore, we have successfully implemented a complex infrastructural update for 0Box, our web backend. This update is a significant step towards enhancing our users’ web experience. The majority of requests will now be directed to 0Box, relieving the load on sharders and eliminating the need for the replication of aggregates. This update is expected to further improve the network’s performance and resilience.

Meanwhile, the marketing team is preparing for the public launch, which will occur after the community approves the upcoming app updates. We are excited about the weeks ahead and are grateful for all your support!

Storm of the Week

Coingecko Data Breach

CoinGecko, the world’s largest independent data aggregator, experienced a data breach through its third-party email marketing platform. This breach revealed the personal information of nearly 2 million users, exposing their names, email addresses, IP addresses, and locations. Shortly after, 23,000 phishing emails were sent to users in an attempt to hack and scam them. You can read more about it in CoinTelegraph’s report and CoinGecko’s own statement.

This incident highlights the importance of security and how even prominent companies in the crypto space still rely on centralized platforms for their cloud operations, putting their users’ data at risk from scammers and hackers. It underscores the critical need to switch to decentralized storage solutions. Zus decentralized storage focuses on robust security while providing the fast performance and flexibility that large platforms need. With its three-layer security, data is broken into smaller pieces and spread out so no single point can compromise your data. Also, the data can be immutable, ensuring it will never be altered without your permission. Additionally, you can securely share your data, keeping it private and safe from third parties.

In conclusion, transitioning to decentralized storage with Zus is crucial for protecting user data from breaches and ensuring a higher standard of security in the digital age.

That’s all for today, folks. Expect more exciting updates soon. I will notify you on Telegram once the hard fork is activated.
