Phil Castillo joins 0chain as CRO

As we gear up to deliver our testnet, a pre-cursor to our mainnet, we are getting ready to roll out new products and services. To this end, we have a natural leader with proven track record to help enterprise customers translate the value of blockchain and decentralized storage into a new source of revenue in addition to lowering cloud expenses.

I am thrilled and excited to introduce Phil Castillo as our Chief Revenue Officer. Phil is a 30+ year industry veteran with success within both large marquee firms as well as aggressive growth-oriented startups. At 0chain, he is responsible for delighting customers and communicating the value 0chain can deliver to the Enterprise market. He most recently was VP Sales and General Manager of Sales for the U.S. Western region within Hewlett Packard Enterprise with over $2B in hybrid cloud, converged infrastructure, and technology services business. Phil’s team represented all segments and routes to market and excelled with channels and partnerships.

Previously, Phil was promoted to Vice President of U.S. Sales for HP Networking. In 2012, he was named Global Sales Manager of the Year.

Phil joined HP from Siemens Communications, where he was Vice President of West Sales. While at Siemens, Castillo rebuilt the sales team driving immediate impact with over-plan performance and over 20 percent year-over-year growth.

Prior to Siemens, Phil had successful sales leadership roles for over 9 years with Cisco Systems. He has had successful roles with smaller start-ups including Kalpana (invented Ethernet switching and acquired by Cisco Systems) and Meru Networks (acquired by Fortinet). As Sales Vice President West at Avaya, Phil was recognized as #1 sales leader in the world and U.S. in 2003 and 2004.

While attending California State University at Long Beach, Castillo majored in economics, received two NCAA All American awards, and traveled much of the world as a member of the U.S. National Water Polo Team. He is active in his community and was awarded the City of Newport Beach Heroic Act Award in 2012. He lives with his wife, Julie and six children in Southern California. He enjoys ocean sports, fly-fishing across the West, and encouraging his children’s sporting and life events.
