It’s official.

We’ve published the v2 RC1 of the ERC-721 standard implementation a few months ago. Now, the version has been approved as final.

Within the first days of this year, we’ve released the Release Candidate 1 (RC1) for version 2 (v2) of the ERC-721 standard implementation for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the Ethereum blockchain, written in collaboration with our advisor and ERC-721 lead author William Entriken.

$ npm install 0xcert/ethereum-erc721@2.0.0

Up until today, we’ve received a couple of Issues posted on our GitHub, and responded to most significant suggestions.

Since then, no major issues have appeared which makes the v2 of the ERC-721 standard implementation confirmed final.

Compared to the v1, the latest version is optimized and reduces gas fees without compromising the powerful functions of the standard.

The bug bounty that was open for the developer community to find issues and provide suggestions for the RC1 improvements is, however, still ongoing and inviting proposals.

The v2 of the ERC-721 marks the latest update to the first valid reference implementation of the ERC-721 standard that we provided last year, and optimizes is for even better adoption.
