The 0xcert NFT Spotlight Series is aimed at bringing to light the 50 shades of non-fungibility. From games to cards, and from protocols to supporting services, there is no shortage of uniqueness.

Yes, the part 14 is here already — this time, we’re discovering the non-fungible space with Auctionity, to present their point of view on the current state of the market, since they know a lot about the issues of the blockchain and are providing great solutions for them.

(Looking for some other non-fungible project? You might find it at the bottom of the post.)

📢 What is Auctionity all about?

If collectible NFTs are your thing and you’d like to bid with them, Auctionity could serve you well. Auctionity is the largest blockchain auction house for the cute and collectible non-fungible tokens.

💪 What nut are they cracking?

The NFT market is getting more and more diverse, vibrant, and demanding. To solve the issue of transparent trade and selling the NFTs to the most serious collectors, Auctionity has created a blockchain-based auction and bidding saleroom. Every NFT on sale can receive multiple bids during a specific timeframe. This enhances the sellers’ competitiveness and makes them increase their effort in acquiring the asset of their preference. After all, every precious NFT deserves the right owner.

🔧 How do they do it?

By providing a bidding platform for the NFTs, Auctionity gathers the non-fungible collectors under one roof and gives them an opportunity to outbid the others. The auctions also come with community rewards for other participants in the auction to leverage from a bid. This way, a broader community can engage in an auction and make it work with shared effort — from bloggers promoting a bid to seller’s sponsors. Talk about sharing the non-fungible pie!

⛓️ Auctionity Network in action

Check out the NFTs for sale and place your bid on the Auctionity Saleroom, or put your own NFT to the auction. The NFTs are traded for ETH, which requires you to have some spare ETH coins in your wallet to participate. To connect with the Saleroom in the first place, you may choose to access it through the MetaMask extension or Portis wallet. Then, you create an auction by depositing the NFTs you’d like to trade. And off it goes waiting for the sweet bids.

The Auctionity team is also very active in spreading the word about non-fungibility and NFTs through their NFT & ERC-721 Coverage Series and teaching the NFT trade in many great video tutorials. Trade or no trade — they are worth checking out!

❓ Non-fungible Q&A

Auctionity is all about NFTs and sharing them with the community. We were curious to learn their personal opinions on this field and possible applications of NFTs, so we invited their Chief Content Officer, Romuald Clermont, to sum it up for their team and himself in our fungible-five interview. Here is what we learned.

1. What do you expect to see in 10-years time in the non-fungible field? The most creative answers count double.

The future of NFT world is the mainstream adoption. Today, the main worries concerning the blockchain are the barriers of the technology itself: cost and speed. Tomorrow, these problems will be fixed. Indeed, as blockchain technology works today, there are too many challenges remaining for users who can perceive the technology as cumbersome.

Auctionity and many other companies in the NFT field are well-aware of this problem for the user, and they are working towards making the experience as user-friendly and convenient as possible. For example, Auctionity is now working with Portis to make the Auctionity Saleroom available on mobile, available at the tips of your fingers, on your smartphone.

If we look further, in 10 years, we can imagine a new web, with new auction platforms like eBay or Amazon embedding an easy way to tokenize physical assets with low or high values. There, every transaction will happen instantaneously in a transparent way, without fees and thanks to fiat or cryptocurrency payment solutions.

2. In terms of other NFT projects, which one would you nominate for a Golden Globe and why?

Mmmh… I should say MLB Crypto Baseball as they have interesting gameplay, regarding the strategy, the fact they remain collectibles season after season and the value of each card changes according to the evolution of the league.

3. What would you rather have — your pet cat tokenized on the blockchain or a tangible, strokable 3D-version of your favorite crypto-asset?

My pet cat tokenized on the blockchain and then I’d print a 3D-version of my cat!

4. A CryptoKitty and an Axie enter the ring. Who wins?

It’s difficult to answer as Cryptokitties are quite pacifists! If they were forced to fight it would depend on the characteristics of each one. A Honu Cryptokitty may have its chances against a Netherval but a … should defeat a zombie crypto kitty in a beauty pageant!

5. Finish the joke: “Auctionity walks into a bar…”

The barman asks: “Why are you here?”
Auctionity replies: “Because I heard it was the place to bid!”

🧐

The NFT world needs more platforms like Auctionity, and we thank them for their contribution to the future of non-fungibility on the blockchain. Also, a big thanks to Romuald for his time to participate in our Non-fungible Spotlight Series! Keep up the great work!
