The 0xcert NFT Spotlight Series is aimed at bringing to light the 50 shades of non-fungibility. From games to cards, and from protocols to supporting services, there is no shortage of uniqueness.

In the eighth episode of the series, we had the honor to talk to not one, but two great minds of the non-fungible space, representing Nonfungible.com platform for listing non-fungible collectibles and their market performance. (For more non-fungible experts and their opinions, please scroll to the bottom of the post.)

📢 What is Nonfungible.com all about?

Nonfungible.com is like CoinMarketCap meets Etherscan, but for NFTs. The brainchild of Co-founder Dan Kelly, it soon grew into a solid referential platform for NFTs with Gauthier Zuppinger joining in. These guys live and breathe non-fungibility, and it would be hard to imagine a more dedicated duo running it.

💪 What’s the purpose?

Dan and Gauthier built a well-structured platform, providing an overview of the NFT market share and performance. After individual non-fungible collectibles have been scattered around like satellites, they were among the first to bring them together for comparison, market performance check, and transactional overview. Nonfungible.com provides a system we are familiar with from CoinMarketCap but applied to non-fungible versions of traded assets.

🔧 How do they do it?

The core of Nonfungible.com platform is gathering the hottest non-fungible token projects on the market and their transactional data collected from various sources. Much like in case of cryptocurrencies and (mostly ERC-20) tokens, here you can find supply, valuations and volume information about the top NFTs, with more projects expected to be added to the list.

⛓️ Nonfungible.com in action

On the landing page, choose among the NFT projects and look into their performance to decide on your next purchase of a non-fungible collectible. You can filter the tokens and their respective transactions by amount, price in USD, and time of execution. Its clickable address provides further details such as transaction hash so you can verify it yourself, descriptor and metadata as unique determiners of an NFT, and its transactional history. You can thus always check the hands that held the NFT of your liking before you acquire it, or even go bold and use the data to speculate on the future market growth for NFTs.

❓ Non-fungible Q&A

With Nonfungible.com, a good friend of the 0xcert, we had the chance to sit down and talk with both co-founders, Dan Kelly, and Gauthier Zuppinger. Even though they are two minds, they mostly agree on the fundamental questions and aspects of non-fungibility. Maybe that’s the reason the nonfungible.com platform works in such synchrony…

Dan and Gauthier — two guys and a shared perspective.

1. What do you expect to see in 10-years time in the non-fungible field? The most creative answers count double.

We think cryptographically secure asset ownership will be common across multiple industries. Where ever ownership is recorded via an external document or recorded in a database is an excellent industry for non-fungible tokens to disrupt.

2. In terms of other NFT projects, which one would you nominate for a Golden Globe and why?

Decentraland, as they took an extremely simple concept of tokenizing coordinates on a 2D grid system and turned it into a 3D metaverse full of possibilities.

3. What would you rather have — your pet cat tokenized on the blockchain or a tangible, strokable 3D-version of your favorite crypto-asset?

Dan’s pet cat tokenized and fractionalized — Zoup (Gauthier Zuppinger), will sell it token by token on OpenSea! Even a cat can be flipped.

4. A CryptoKitty and an Axie enter the ring. Who wins?

Axies, hands-down. Those fierce little buggers are trained to battle in arenas. Kitties are like rabbits, they are trained to breed.

5. Finish the joke: “Nonfungible.com walks into a bar…

… full of NFT community and influencers and says — “Now THIS is NIFTY™!”

👫👫👫

We thank both Dan and Gauthier for sharing their views, and needless to say, for the improvement of the non-fungible world with their dedication and trust in the NFT-movement.
