Andie didn’t live anywhere near Knox shopping center. But it was easier to agree to a location that she knew and could navigate her way to.
They had organized their date for three in the afternoon, a movie. Andie had traveled nearly an hour by public transport, a mix of buses and trains, to get to the shopping complex.
She had made it only a few minutes before three. And, worried she would be more than a few minutes late, she ran to where they had said they would meet.
Andie stood there, on her own.
She straightened her skirt a little.
Combed her hair with the tips of her fingers.
She checked her watch. Added some more lip gloss to her smile. Teased the hair, this time.
Stood there. Checked her watch. Toe started to tap. Louder. Even louder.
