A Self-Love Letter

The things I don’t say as often as I should

Dear me,

Thank you for making it this far. Even though it’s been hard, and there have been times when you didn’t want to keep going, you’re still here.

Despite the depression that tries to hold you back, I see a mind that is eager to learn new things and be exposed to new ideas. I love that the thirst for learning has been such a constant throughout this life.

Thank you for having taken me around the world. Even if the flame that fuelled the passion for travel has been extinguished, I’m grateful to have had my eyes opened to so many different ways of living.

I see the love and care you show your little furbabies every day.

It’s gotten easier with practice, but I love that you have chosen to speak up about mental illness and other topics that deserve to be brought into the light of day.

I’m grateful that your voice was always louder than the self-critic that likes to poke its nose in every now and then.

I love you because you persist.
