There are a whole host of reasons why I write.

I write because there are things in my mind that need a way out somehow.

I write because words connect people.

I write because it helps me to understand the world.

I write because it’s meaningful and it gives me a sense of purpose.

I write to leave a memory trail.

I write to freely express myself.

I write so that my mental illness doesn’t stay locked up away from the world, shrouded in silence.

Sometimes I write because I think I should.

Sometimes I write because I need to.

Sometimes I write to take a stand on a social issue.

Sometimes I write to make some money.

Always, I write because I can.

If I have something to say in a 1-minute read, I will say it.

Because I can.
