Medium Writers: Be Patient

The world is a series of choices. Some of those good choices provide immediate pay-off. Others take time to roll-in. The words to my not so favorite Kenny Rogers song rise unbidden to my mind: “ If you’re gonna play the game, boy, You gotta learn to play it right. You’ve got to know when to hold ’em [and] Know when to fold ‘em.”

Like a good game of poker, you can raise high and get the two dollars in the pot to scare away potential callers, or you can play a little riskier with that straight and see if you can “bide your time” and bait other players for more money.

It’s all about good choices. And patience.

I’ve been on Medium for only three months, and I have learned a lot. But one thing I am still working on is patience.

It’s so important here on this platform. For all of us.
