Introduction to Me and an Idea

Hello. My name is Dismas McGinty. My Dad decided to name me after a biblical figure. Dismas, the good thief, was the crucified man on the right side of Jesus Christ at his crucifixion who asked for forgiveness.

I am 100% Irish and the name Dismas meant a great deal to my Dad, who was 100% Irish and told me many times that the name came from a long line of noble Irishman, who drank and told stories.

Being a good thief has many connotations and to be honest, I am not going to cover each and everyone. I may not cover any of them for that matter you will have to wait and see.

What I am going to do is use this platform to begin writing a book about my ten years in the Federal Prison System. To do this, I am going to recreate letters I wrote to my Mom while locked up about the many men I met while incarcerated.

Men from the mob, bosses and want to be bosses. Men from the drug cartels and the streets selling drugs. There is a host of men I will be writing about, and I hope you enjoy each and every story.

What I would like is for you to feel free to comment about my content, style and anything else you want to bring to light. I won’t be writing the entire content of each chapter as I think that would defeat the purpose of getting this published. I am going to rely on you the reader though to help me build this book into something worthwhile and readable for you and others.
