Three paths to upgrade the wisdom of Yoda

I think Yoda missed something when he was talking about fear and anger.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. — Jedi Master Yoda

Sure, I do agree with him. It’s only that he doesn’t talk about reasons we get to fear. Like most bad attitude to life, fear and anger have roots in us, of course. And those roots spread long before we were aware of them.

  1. Upbringing. All the fear you parents had, you have. Because they couldn’t help it, if thew weren’t aware. Bring those fear to awareness and work on them.
  2. Socializing. The people you connect with, make your spirits high or they can break you. Who makes you mad most? People you’re stuck with, who bring you down, who don’t listen to you. Enter anger. So be picky who you hang out with.

3. Health. And starting with health, sleep. The first and most important thing in health is sleep. Then water, food, exercising and all the things that are popular to “treat you body like a temple”. Lack of sleep leads to irritation, cranky mood… and all that quickly turns into anger.
