I wish people would be quick to support us as we make difficult decisions rather than nitpick and offer advice that translates to “don’t be you.”

We know we’re weird. We’ve made choices both personally and professionally that seem quite strange. But we are not gods or aliens, incomprehensible.

We have our reasons.

Our story is far from average. The roots of our business run deep and our family tree is unlike any other. It isn’t that I don’t want to share.

I don’t want to feel like I have to in order to be validated.
