04. My Happy Place

Do you have one place where you feel instantly happy whenever you go to it?

For me, that place is the Jones Beach Amphitheater (now called Nikon at Jones Beach Theater) on Long Island, NY.

Of course, an amphitheater on its own, is not enough to make me happy. It is the experiences that I have had within the amphitheater — specifically, listening to live music with friends and family overlooking the bay and beach.

I’ve often seen Dave Matthews Band, Counting Crows and many other bands at Jones Beach and there is just something that makes me happy being at concerts there. From the pregaming in the parking lot, to the ocean breeze and seeing the boats bobbing in the water on a warm night, even the occasional torrential downpour, listening to live music at Jones Beach is always an experience that brings a smile to my face.
