Today the allusion of “burn your boats” is not a literal one. The expression is used as a way to leave everything behind and not give yourself an alternative other than succeeding. History has shown us that having no other option but to succeed leads to victory. An example of this is when Alexander the Great arrived on the shores of Persia with his army being outnumbered. His men thought it would be wise to return, but Alexander the Great turned to his men and said, “We go home in Persian ships or we die.” You might not know where to begin but your mind will creatively find answers to what you are seeking. If you are starting a business and are looking for a manufacture, your mind will selectively focus on ways to getting in front of the right people.

The question for us is, what are the excuses in our lives that are floating in our minds, which are keeping us from getting what we want. What are the boats in our lives that we need to burn?
