6. Why Co-Workers Are Important

For the past five years I worked for a nonprofit community organization. Being the youngest employee on the full time staff, I have come to learn some valuable life lessons from my co-workers.

When you spend endless hours with the same group of people, relationships are bound to form. Having people you enjoy spending time with while at work is extremely important. Great co-workers can truly make those daunting days seem much brighter.

As I reflect back on my nearly five years as part of the JCC Rockland team, I think first and foremost about what an incredible journey it has been and secondly, about all of the amazing people I have worked with.

Leaving my job was truly bittersweet. On one hand, I am extremely excited to be working for a new company that will allow me to grow both personally and professionally. But on the other hand, I had to say goodbye to my amazing co-workers and staff — people who have truly become my second family.

Since moving to California less than a week ago, I have received tons of emails, texts, and phone calls from so many of you checking in on me. I am so grateful to have you all in my corner as I move into the next chapter of my life.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you to my JCC Rockland family. I laughed, I cried, and I most certainly spread my love for Spikeball with each of you.

Keep it real. See you in August!
