71. Tone Down

In a world that tells us to pump up everything from our muscles, to our car stereos, to our abilities, our achievements and with them our collective egos; it is easy to forget the bare essentials of genuine living. Our environment is over stimulated by measures of success that are announced on every pulpit, post and podium. Our own sense of worth and usefulness is at risk.

True wisdom, on the other hand, is silent. It won’t always show off its knowledge but will quickly yet surely manifest itself in the results it produces. How about we tone down that need to show off and pump up the work, the cheerfulness and the service to humanity?
Because that’s what needs to be praised and exposed.
