81. Pain stops you from slowly dying
Because it awakens you to yourself.

“Many people die at twenty five and aren’t buried until they are seventy five.”
The quote above is commonly attributed to Benjamin Franklin. Regardless of if it is or not, it’s a quote we should all live by.
It’s the reason why I write everyday. Writing forces me to think. It forces me to think of meaningful things to say, to craft spellbinding stories and imperfect characters that people want to fall in love with.
It’s almost like therapy for me, except the only affliction I have is apathy. That doesn’t mean that this isn’t a serious thing to suffer from. Most people have it and don’t even know it.
Are you just waiting to expire over time? Do something that gives you a bit of pain every day. Even if it’s something as simple as the pain of building a habit, it still counts.
