83. Doing it for the kids

My daughter has made my life harder.

There’s always a little soul to keep in mind of. I’m a hoverer and having her has brought out that side of me to the max. But I’m not regretful that she was born — far from it.

While she has made my life harder, I’m immensely thankful because she’s made my life simpler. Her being around has helped me realize what I have to focus on in life.

Every action I take is directed towards one thing: helping me be a better father to her. This means taking more time to spend with her, which ultimately means that I don’t want to punch the clock for the rest of my life, which is why I’m writing novels. It’s a long shot but hey, at least I’m working towards something.

I hate being aimless and having my daughter has helped refine my focus so that it’s sharper than a diamond tipped saw blade.

So Evelyn, maybe you’ll read these one day. If you do, Daddy thanks you for being who you are.
