[97] Process Over Purpose

If you are too fixated on the process you’re using the get to the purpose, you are missing the point.

So many people crave instructional manuals, explicitly laid-out step by step plans for achieving a desired outcome. And so many people desire the need to create instructional manuals and explicit directions that must be followed by others in order to reach their purpose.

Either way, people tend to get lost in the process — they either fumble with the instructional manual, questioning and testing it without getting to the point, or spend so much time focusing on outlining the manual that they miss conveying the point and even enacting on their own purpose.

If your process has surpassed your purpose in focus, then you’ll never get anything meaningful done.
