A Simple Way to Accomplish More Tasks (#7)

Without All the Added Nonsense

There’s one really, really simple way to get more things done throughout your day. And it’s so simple that when I tell you about it you’ll probably just laugh.

But here’s the kicker — it works better than any other productivity system I’ve tried.

Let’s say we draw our energy every day from a giant well. Like any well, the water goes down when it’s drawn over time, so if it’s not filled back up it’ll eventually run dry.

Our bodies are like the well. Unfortunately, we can’t do much to fill it up throughout the day; all we can really do is fill it up by taking time to rest and sleep enough hours to take on the next day.

So knowing that every day we’re running on a finite concept of willpower, why not strategize? Because if it takes a certain amount of energy to even start a task (let alone finish it) then we need to carefully decide when we should shelve a task for later on because it’s going to cost us in the long run.

The question becomes, then, is it worth it to half-complete a task if it’s going to take twice the energy to start it back up later?

We only have so much time every day to reach our goals. And no matter what, your well will eventually run dry. So deciding how to maximize your time in a way that works for you can make or break everything.
