Biryani love

Not much to report except our wonderful cook who celebrates Eid (well, celebrated yesterday) sent over some wonderful biryani and sheer kurma today.

She’s such a brilliant cook and Muslim cuisine has a really unique flavor to it. There are different kinds of biryanis depending on the community making it. The Bohri Muslim community makes a very different biryani from those of other Muslim communities. Bengali’s make a different biryani from the Hyderabadis.

As divisive as religion and the world we’re living in is increasingly becoming, I’m grateful for the unifying factors such as food.
