They embrace life with an enthusiasm I cannot relate to.
I wish that I could.
They tell stories which defy the rules: there’s a beginning; something resembling a middle; but no end in sight. Such absurd structure seems alien to them — life is excitement after all!
They laugh at the slightest absurdity, the faintest smile. They were shy for a moment, that was yesterday.
Yesterday I was an unknown, bearded stranger; ten minutes ago they hugged me good night.
I’ll share some of their joy and enthusiasm if I can, but I’ll keep my adult rules about story structure.
