After incessant crying for hours, falling asleep wasn’t the problem. She dozed off quickly, only to get head deep into the terrifying ocean that her subconscious was.

Erratic sleeping patterns. Nothing new. Dreams that made her scared of reality and reality that made her want to sleep all year round.

It was an impossible choice betweeen horrid and vile. But this time something was different.

The silence woke her.

Usually she woke up when he did. Brushing against her back with his erection. Ready to penetrate and devour her entrance. With no regard to her not being ready or not wanting to.

That was the deal.

Her puffy eyes opened, she turned around and he wasn’t there. He wasn’t on the other side of the bed.

She didn’t know what to feel: happiness or concern.

Was she free? Or is there a possibility for worse outcome than not having him around?

She got up, walked around the appartment and he still wasn’t anywhere to be found.

There was a small blue envelope on the glass table in front of the tv with “Natalie” written on it.

What did he do?

She knew it was from him. She was terrified what he might have done to her abuser.

She opened it with hesitation.

I’m sorry it took me so long to free you from this animal. But I finally did. You are free to go. Free to chase your dreams and do all the things you wanted. I love you and I always will. Don’t look for me. — T
