Day 19: “You can’t get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.”

I am so happy that I found this quote because it confirms my view that “travelling” is a massive excuse to not live in reality.

It reminds me of another quote:

“If travelling was free, you’d never see me again.”

I know of some guys who started a travel company, and they started it by simply posting a status on Facebook that asked people if they wanted to go to some particular country.

They made travelling free for themselves. In fact, they now get paid to travel. So travelling could be free, if you bothered to put in the work.

A girl I went on a date with last year was going travelling. She said something like that quote — she wanted to travel “forever”, I think. I told her about those guys, and I told her she could do the same. I told her she could become an expert on her favourite country regarding everything to do with tourism, and then she could essentially start her own tour guide business.

“You’ve literally just described my dream job,” she said.

Do you think she ever actually did it? Do you think she ever took any real action to make it happen? Or do you think she “travelled” and then came back home and got a job she didn’t really want, so she could save money to escape reality again later?
