Effortless Reading is Really Hard Writing (#11)

As Samuel Johnson reminds us, “What is written without effort is in general read without pleasure.”

It’s not easy to be a writer. It’s not easy to create a story that others read let alone want to buy, share, and add into their library.

Good writing takes time. It takes a lot of sweat, toil, and perseverance. It also takes a hell of a lot of work and you need to be willing to develop the discipline to put that work in.

If you don’t write like your life depends on it then you run the risk of being ignored. Of being a nobody who coulda’ been something. And that would be a shame indeed.
