The pink elephant in the room right now is, my marriage. I promised my husband that I would not write about us anymore. I wrote a memoir. It was raw so I understand his request.

But I need this space to express these difficult feelings.

Writing cleanses my emotional palate. It ushers clarity.

Being the subject of a story you aren’t writing isn’t easy. Lately my marriage hasn’t been easy either.

The pink elephant in the room may not be my marriage. It may be my willingness to stay true to my promises even when doing so doesn’t suit me.
