How’s your garden?

Our minds are like a garden.
Things that grow in any garden are of only two types: intentional and unintentional.

Your fruits and vegetables are intentional. You went and got the seeds, you planted them, watered them and catered after them to ensure they yield a result worthy of the time and effort invested.
You protected them from insects and other creeping things that would prevent their growth. It was all intentional.
But in the same garden, there are weeds. This was not your doing. You did not plan them. You did not intend to water them but by watering the garden, you watered the weeds as well.
Weeds are unintentional.

Our mind is like a garden. We decide what thoughts to plant, what thoughts to linger on, what thoughts to nourish and invest our time and effort in to see them materialize in a product, a service, a work of art, a song, and whatever more. Thoughts of success must be intentional.
Alongside our good constructive and postive thoughts are weeds. They are negative thoughts that are just there. They just pop up in our minds. We don’t intend to have them, they just “show up”. But be not deceived, thoughts are seeds, whether a good one or a bad, they are nevertheless seeds that will mature unless they are reaped out.
Ensuring a healthy garden is about reaping out the weeds as much as it is about caring for the seeds.
