I Just Learned a Ton From 2 Baseball Games
Bottom line, you can’t quit early.
Game 1
The first game was rough to watch. To make a long story short: 7 home runs, none from our team, 23–6 loss through 7 innings. What I learned though is that there are a few different ways to interpret the situation you’re currently in. There were some guys who gave up and threw in the towel and some who kept fighting. Going into the seventh inning, we had two runs. A few guys wanted to fight and brought that total up to 6. It’s the fight that defines us, not the outcome.
Game 2
Game two was in our favor since the first inning when we put up three runs off the bat. Throughout the game we held the lead and kept going and it came to the top of the ninth inning. The score was 8–6, we were winning. Unfortunately, a few of our players thought we had won the game already and kind of dusted off. The outcome, the opponent won the game 11–8. The fight needs to be 24/7/365 “until the fat lady sings.”
