Letter #10: 5 things I’ve learnt after 10 weeks of 100 Naked Words

- Anyone can write. Yes, even you. It’s like, if you can talk, you can definitely sing. If you can jump, you can dance. If you can breathe, you can live greatly.
- The name of a publication is crucial to its success. The name of this publication is intentional. I wanted to attract writers who wanted to take up writing and to do it in a way that wasn’t scary, hence why 100 words only. I also knew readers wanted impact without necessarily reading for over 5 minutes, which is also where the 100 words appeal comes in.
- Don’t sweat the small stuff. I’d remember in the early days checking how many new followers there were every day and being disappointed when there was little growth. I also remembered sending Letters to you and having what I thought were poor open rates. Some Letters didn’t even show open rates — I put it down to a bug in the system. So not worth crying over. All I should focus on is doing good, doing it to the best of my ability and leaving it at that.
- Community is everything. The writers are everything. They are what keep this publication going. They can reach out to me at any point if they have concerns about not meeting their daily writing requirement. I have allowed them to continue when they have missed days due to circumstances out of their control. The readers are also everything. Without you, this publication would just be words thrown into a canyon.
- 10 weeks is nothing to celebrate. 52 weeks is worth celebrating a little bit. I want to hit 104 weeks — two years. To complete two years worth of consistent effort… that would be something special. Hope you’re with me all the way :)

What if you had the courage to only do the work you love?
How much happier would you be? What separates the people who have the courage and those who don’t? Vulnerability. Accepting that they’re good enough to do the work that gives their life meaning.
1percentbraver.com is a community of people all ready to accept that they’re good enough. They get access to an online magazine that tackles problems like maintaining peak personal performance and how to promote yourself. They also get access to a recorded interview with a person of influence who’s used their vulnerability to empower instead of weaken themselves.
Next edition launches July 28th. Click here to apply to join the Braver Shortlist and tell me what work gives your life meaning. If you’re a good fit, I’ll save you a spot for when the community re-opens.
