More Good Feedback From Rejections — #64
I received some good feedback from a recent short story submission today. I say “good” because it was detailed and specific, and from multiple readers. Admittedly, the piece I wrote was bizarre and nonsensical. A man in a confused state in an unknown place and strangeness happens around him. Downright weird. But the readers didn’t get it. I think I understand, though. It probably was just being weird for the sake of weird. I had a larger picture in my brain that didn’t make it onto the page in the short number of words (under 1000). All part of the learning curve. I know I have lots to improve. I’ll keep on at it. Perhaps in a decade time I’ll have a couple of novels and some decent work behind me!
