My friend, as always, downplayed the newest achievement in her life. She just moved into a great Williamsburg apartment. You can see the empire state building from her window, and from the back balcony — complete with grill.

She and her roommates threw a little soiree that brought me out of my slump. For once, I went to a party in Brooklyn and it wasn’t hard to get home. I didn’t have someone with me complaining about the subway or the cab fare. Just me taking a quick jaunt back to my neighborhood.
