Project 365: Day 173 — Nostalgia
I miss the old days.
When buying caps, feeding pigeons and getting Polaroid pictures clicked at Gateway of India was our idea of a Sunday outing.
When I would finish an entire packet of black and white peppermints and then marvel at the cool sensation in my mouth and the way my tummy hurt.
I miss the days of make believe stories and dolls brought to life by my amateur ventriloquist mother.
I miss watching The Jungle Book on Doordarshan — the only form of TV we knew back in the 90s.
I miss playing 8-bit games on the gaming console that you’d need to sort through a bunch of wires to get up and running.
I miss sitting on the toy train in the Children’s garden. Even the life size aeroplane you could play in. Or The Old Woman’s Shoe.
I miss the days of soft serves, that we called softy ice-cream.
There is more… But there aren’t enough words I can find right now so I’ll end this trip down the lane of nostalgia here.
