Project 365: Day 237 — Vacation begins
After a few hectic weeks at work, the vacation has beckoned. I’m visiting my best friend in Calcutta. I’m visiting Calcutta for the fifth time now. I visited 3 months ago for a very short time.
But it always feels short. I’m now used to Calcutta. I can even tell most of the streets by their name or at least nearby landmark. It feels good to have a memory of a place that you love so much. I love this city, perhaps because my best friend, my family outside of blood-ties lives here, I feel at home here.
I’m here at an interesting time. Christmas. Christmas in Calcutta is really something. The streets are so beautifully lit up. The roads are slightly misty right now. And some roads are lit up. I’ll edit this post to put up a video of the wonderfully lit up Bypass route I took from the airport.
As I write this, I’ve crossed the Big Ben, a miniature of the British original that’s so lovely despite being caricature like. I’ll add a picture of the Big Ben from my trip last Christmas a little later.
Whichever corner of the world you’re in, I hope you’re having a great Christmas. I’ll be reaching my friend’s home soon and I look forward to meeting her.
