Can’t believe it’s been 3 months since I started writing every single day. I always feel this wonderful sense of accomplishment when I think about writing at the end of the day. I don’t struggle. No matter how busy I am, I always manage to find time to write. It has become a part of my daily routine now and not once have I felt the urge to quit. It’s the first and hopefully not the last habit to stick. I’m grateful at finding the strength to do this daily.

Anyway, on to what I intend on writing about what I want to tonight. Music. I am currently listening to the Game of Thrones Season 6 soundtrack. I’ve been looping to it for the last many weeks. It’s a superb one. Now I’ve switched to the music of Piku, one of my favourite Indian films of last year. It has a lovely warm soundtrack. Here’s a song from the film if you want to listen:

Music is wonderfully magical. It has the power to heal when you’re low. It can really put you in the work zone. I’ve switched to this fabulous cello cover of the Game of Thrones opening credits. You can check it out here:

I’ve been typing furiously, syncing my movements on the keyboard with the music playing in my ears. The pace of it lends a beautiful headrush. I have a similar feeling when it comes to the score of films such as Pacific Rim or The Dark Knight Rises. An ex-colleague of mine would make fun of me because my head would bob up and down in my seat while working because I’d be working with headphones on.

While the faster soundtracks are nice, the slower, melancholic or even happier ones are welcome too. I listen to ‘La Noyee’ from the film Amelie. It’s a wonderful lively track, that was plagiarised a fair bit by an Indian composer, Pritam for a film called Barfi. Give it a listen:

Music can have a profound influence on one’s mood. It can lift spirits or it can put one to sleep. Music always wakes me up — well, most of the time anyway. Most of all, it’s refreshing and has a calming effect on my soul.

That’s all for today. Thanks for reading!
