I am reading Graham Greene again. The Comedians. Around sixty pages read so far. I enjoy his dry wit and self-aware style of writing. An incredibly light dusting of Nabokovian deliciousness, from an Englishman.

It feels apt that I have started working on my novel again. Whether I admit it publicly or not, Graham Greene will always have had quite a strong influence on my early writing.

More specifically, “A Burnt-Out Case”.

His novels have, more often than not, had a strong impact on me. They are effortless in their execution, unpretentious. Intelligent and insightful into the human condition. I aspire to the same kind of work.
