Shoulder Shrugging is a Thing!

What Kevin Hart recently taught me that changed my whole way of thinking.

The Shoulder Shrug

In Kevin Hart’s book, he talks a lot about shoulder shrugging things off. I’ve always known about short memory and how it can help you deal with not-so-good situations, but doing a shoulder shrug never came to mind as I was trying to find new ways to get through tough times.

Since then, not much bad as happened but let’s take our most recent loss in softball as an example. We were playing a team we knew was good so we were much more focused than our other times playing. Long story short, things went south and we lost 17–3. When I said south, I meant South Pole south — not tip of South America south. It went all the way south.

Anyways, some of my teammates were down after the game so I shoulder shrugged. Just doing that, my whole outlook on the game was changed. I started encouraging my teammates right away and making sure they were okay.

Shoulder shrugs can go a long way if you listen to them. Body language can teach you a lot more than words.
