Stretch Jeans — the bane of my existence!
Whatever happened to denim? Whatever happened to that great feel of putting a well-worn pair of levis on? The smooth, soft feel of an aged icon. Everything about denim was great, it was perfect, it was a statement; until someone thought putting elastine in it was a brilliant idea!
NO! It was the worst thing that could have happened to this truly remarkable, non-gender specific, non-age specific, non-class specific item of clothing. Jeans are more than an item of clothing. They unite us, they level us, they tell our story. And now?
Try getting a pair of ‘denim jeans’, 100% cotton denim for women…it’s almost impossible because they are all full of bloody elastic — even Levis!
I have had to resort to buying guys jeans because of this abomination, this shameful desecration of a true legend. Oh for those 501’s of old, what I wouldn’t do for a pair.
