The good things I learnt from Medium that no one speaks about
Medium is cool in so many ways. But for a person like me it’s plain awesome! And I am sure there are many like me out there.
I’ll tell you why its awesome.
Source of Inspiration
As a person I am not generally that observant. I am mostly lost in my thoughts and don’t tend to notice people and places.
When I started writing on Medium I started looking around me for stories. I started noticing small things like if they are upset or tensed or happy. Is there a story about them? What is it they are thinking right now? Can they be a character in what I write.
Everywhere I turned I felt like there were stories waiting to be written.
And that’s inspiring to me.
Growing Community
I never realized how huge a community Medium is and how it’s growing everyday. I could read anyone’s article and comment on it with my thoughts.
The number of friends I make through Medium is increasing by the day. I can talk to a person sitting in Japan or in the Europe or basically anywhere in the world and I find similar spirits around the globe everyday. It is my own universe.
Easy Access
I recently started editing in a publication called SendOut and realized how I have access to amazing articles in this one platform.
I can directly get in touch with just about anyone and request them to add their articles to our publication.
I am sure all this was never that simple before.
Most Important Reason
Most important reason is it makes me want to write everyday. It is great if people read and follow what I write. But even if that doesn’t happen, it is encouraging to see so many writers trying their hand. It makes me want to try and give my best too.
